The first ever edition of WEAVES 2018, which was organized recently at Texvalley, Erode, proved to be fruitful for its participants as well as visitors. According to the organizers, there were 204 exhibitors who displayed their products covering large variety of yarns, fabric as well as garments. Over 7000 delegates from all over India and abroad visited the show.
“During the 4 days trade event, over 654 B2B meetings took place, connecting the local manufacturers to the domestic and international buyers, face to face. This successful RBSM had a business transaction worth over Rs 450 crores. Moreover, 29 MOU’s with educational Institutions were signed in the presence of State Ministers to promote the collaboration among the rising talents from the colleges and connecting them with the regional manufactures for their design and product development requirements.” – Weaves 2018 spokesperson
10 member delegation of Federation of Buying Agents (FBA) from Delhi-NCR visited the fair. The members were happy with the event and liked the displayed fabrics.

He further added that through this event and Texvalley, we are in the direct reach of weaver and the weaving community gives both (buyers and sellers) a unique advantage for working in improving the product design and pricing.
To honour the titans of textile industry in Tamil Nadu, “TITANS OF TAMILNADU TEXTILES” Coffee Table Book was released during the show. Next edition of the event will be organized from 27 to 30 November, 2019.
