During Techtextil from June 21 – 24 in Frankfurt, the VDMA will run a series of live streamings with exciting topics. People who are not attending Techtextil have the chance to be at the show at least online via these Spotlight Talks. Experts from renowned VDMA member companies as well as research institutes will show in their presentations and interviews that machinery companies are enablers of sustainability in the technical textiles industry.
Participating companies and research institutes are: Andritz, Baldwin, Brückner, Groz-Beckert, Lindauer Dornier, Herzog, ITA Augsburg, Mahlo, Pleva, Oerlikon, Thies and Trützschler.
Here are just two highlights out of a total of 13 Spotlight Talks:
1. Award ceremony – Walter Reiners Foundation: 22 June, 4 pm CEST
The chairman of the Walter Reiners Foundation of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association, Peter D. Dornier will award prizes to successful young engineers. Prizes will be awarded in the categories Diploma / Master thesis as well as Bachelor. For the first time, two Sustainability Prizes will be awarded. The award winners will briefly present their forward-looking works.
2. Enabling sustainability: 23 June, 2 pm CEST
The textile industry is facing tremendous challenges regarding sustainability, circularity and advanced product functions – business models are up for grabs, new ones have to be created. The VDMA textile machinery manufacturers are committed to reducing the consumption of resources in the textile value chain with highly efficient technologies. Discussion with the VDMA Board members on the changing demands on textile industries and the role of the textile machinery industry as an indispensable partner in this transition.
