Update on revision to GOTS Version 7.0

The second public consultation period for GOTS Version 7.0 was held from October 3-31st. Around 30 stakeholders participated in the second round of the public consultation, including companies, civil society organisations, standard-setting organisations, certification bodies, industry associations, and representatives of academia. 259 individuals and entities provided input during this period.

Combined with 356 received during the first consultation period, GOTS received over 600 inputs from the public. In the most recent round, about 70 percent of the comments concerned the environmental and technical criteria, 25 percent related to social criteria, and approximately five percent were general input.

GOTS Version 7.0 is planned to be completed and launched in March 2023. The transition period will last one year after the official launch date.
