Techtextil Russia to be held annually from 2017
The ninth edition of Techtextil Russia (20 to 22 February 2017) was a success. In 2017, 67 companies from 10 countries, including Belarus, Belgium, China, India, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic and Russia presented their equipment, technologies and products at Techtextil Russia, leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens. Techtextil Russia took place in the framework of the Russian Textile Week. Many companies participated in the exhibition for the first time reflecting the constantly growing importance and popularity of the fair and its professional recognition.
At the opening ceremony of the Russian Textile Week, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viсtor Evtukhov said that “the industry benefits from the implementation of comprehensive supportive measures by the government.” In addition, Victor Evtukhov noted the growth in technical textiles production, including nonwoven materials, which amounted to 26.6%. The production of workwear and personal protective equipment has increased by nearly 40%.
Michael Jaenecke, Director Brand Management Technical Textiles & Textile Processing at Messe Frankfurt, underlined the effectiveness of combining the leading industry events on one site: “We are happy to be part of the Russian Textile Week with Techextil. We think, that – despite of its young age – the Russian Textile Week has very good prospects to become the main platform for exchange of information in the region. From my point of view, combining all sectoral events on the same platform and at the same time, offers the opportunity to cover the maximum of topics and to discuss all relevant trends relevant to the market”.
Among the exhibitors of the European pavilion, where companies such as Dakota, Bekintex, Bonino Carding Machines, and the new Vetex, SC & T Plant s.r.l. Russian companies in the market of technical textiles and non-woven materials where represented by companies such as Ivanovoiskozh, APO Aleko Polimers, as well as Sinteks, who recently entered the market of technical textiles. Belarus was represented by market leaders and already regular participants of the exhibition such as Mogilevkhimvolokno and Ruchayka.

Within the Russian Textile Week five top events took place at the Expocentre fairground at the same time: Techtextil Russia, Inlegmash CJF – Child and Junior Fashion Spring, Children’s fashion, Interfabric as well as the IV international forum of light industry “Legpromforum-2017”. CPM Moscow – the largest fashion fair in Eastern Europe was held in parallel to the Russian Textile Week.
The organizers of the Russian Textile Week are IEC Expocentre and the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry, the official partner is Messe Frankfurt RUS. Responding to the needs of the technical textiles and fibrous materials market, Messe Frankfurt RUS turned Techtextil Russia into an annual event. Uniting leading industry events at one venue already proved its effectiveness last year.
Industry professionals positively assessed the joint exhibitions of Techtextil Russia and Inlegmash in previous years. The format of the Russian Textile Week allows visitors to attend one site and at the same time discuss a wide range of topics and to identify necessary solutions.
