MOMAD Builds its International Profile and Establishes Itself as the Leading Trade Fair in Sector Innovations

MOMAD, Spain and Southern Europe’s leading trade fair for the fashion, accessory and footwear industry, attracted 12% more visitors than at the September 2023 edition. The fair, held in Hall 8 of the Recinto Ferial at IFEMA MADRID, welcomed more than 6,500 trade professionals from Friday, 9 to Sunday, 11 February 2024.

Growing international importance

Fifty per cent of the more than 300 participating fashion firms at the event were international. Thanks to this impressive turn-out of renowned fashion industry names, 16% of its visitors hailed from a total of 59 countries. As well as travelling in from Europe (Germany, Austria, Andorra, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Croatia, France, Greece, Denmark, Italy…), there were also visitors from North and South America (Canada, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico…); Asia (Saudi Arabia, China, India, Iran, Israel…); Africa (Equatorial Guinea, Lebanon, Morocco…) and even Oceania (Australia).

A magnificent showcase for innovations

One of the main reasons why visitors appreciate MOMAD is the opportunity to see the full gamut of sector innovations. This requires an enormous effort on the part of the organisers to bring new firms on board to attract important fashion professionals. The hard work paid off, with a total of 31% of new brands exhibiting at this edition. This development made the trade fair a focal point for both national and international visitors.

A highlight of the trade show was the MOMAD catwalk, which housed fashion shows by 28 brands over three days, as well as five presentations in the same venue. The fair also hosted the MOMAD Talents by ISEM emerging talent competition, which broke all previous records with more than 50 candidates competing for the prize. The two winning brands were MOCLAN and KAUS STUDIO.

The healthy number of participants and business activity had a major impact on the digital field. The event’s community has more than 75,000 followers, who participated in around 600 real-time posts and generated more than 23,000 interactions.

MOMAD February 2024 took place simultaneously with Intergift, Salón Internacional del Regalo y Decoración (International Gift & Decoration Fair), Madridplata y más by Madridjoya; and Salón Internacional de la Bisutería y Complementos (International Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Trade Fair). The next edition will take place in September at IFEMA MADRID.
