GOTS: New staff members expand expertise and impact

GOTS is pleased to announce three new staff members!

Dr. Nicola Dach
Dr. Nicola Dach

Dr. Nicola Dach has taken on the newly created role of Knowledge Management and Continued Education Specialist. Her key responsibilities include the development, implementation, and headshot nicolaoperation of the GOTS Academy – a place for informational material, training, and discourse all about GOTS, as well as the development and implementation of GOTS’s overall knowledge management strategy. Nicola completed her Ph.D. degree at the University of Illinois in the USA, where she also taught for multiple years and she has worked in strategic and operational management at AIZ, the Academy for International Cooperation at GIZ (the German Corporation for International Cooperation).

Dr. Aleksandra Czajka
Dr. Aleksandra Czajka

Dr. Aleksandra Czajka joined in November as the GOTS Public Procurement Specialist. Aleksandra will spearhead projects including developing material for publicheadshot aleksandra procurement officials on proper legal and administrative ways to require GOTS certification in public tenders, representing GOTS in legislative/administrative bodies involved in creating/formally interpreting rules for public procurement relevant for textiles, organising seminars for public procurement officials, and conceptualizing information/training for suppliers of GOTS certifies products to enable them to successfully participate in public tender processes.

Aleksandra has a Law degree from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland) and a PhD in Law from the same university. Since 2011 she has worked in the fields of public contracts and public-private partnerships in Poland and Spain.

Dr. Roman Alyamkin
Dr. Roman Alyamkin

Dr. Roman Alyamkin is GOTS Sustainability Reporting Standards Specialist. One of the advantages of being GOTS certified is to have increased chances to access investors’ money. headshot 366×366 romanRoman is conducting a project to enable GOTS certified companies to feed into frameworks used for financial reporting of companies towards investors, sustainability-related financial disclosure standards, or the public.

Roman has a Master of Accounting and Audit degree from Poltava State Agrarian University, a Master of Laws from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and a PhD in Economics from The Council for the Study of Productive Forces of Ukraine at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Roman’s substantial work in securities and financial monitoring within financial institutions includes experience as Head of the Financial Monitoring Department at various banks. He also has worked as an auditor at the National Air Space Agency of Ukraine, checking the companies’ economic performance and conducting compliance checks.
