Condor Group and Betap Join Forces

Condor Group is acquiring 100% of the shares of sector and regional partner Betap. Joining together can allow us to respond better and more successfully to the expectations and needs of customers and dynamics on the market. The integration of the experienced staff and innovations from Betap will also further strengthen Condor Group’s portfolio.

Betap is a leading player in the textile floor coverings sector. Just like the Condor Group, the company from Genemuiden that was founded more a hundred years ago designs, develops and produces textile products for different market segments, including residential and contract flooring, artificial grass and the automobile industry. The company employs around 300 people.

Jan Hoekman, CEO of Condor Group “This merger will mean we can respond even better to the market demand. There are also many advantages of scale to be gained. The two companies fit nicely together as regards products and markets. We are established in the same region and share the same values and standards. This also applies for the corporate culture”.

John Jaakke, CEO of Betap “This is a good move for Betap. We are a top-notch company, but also clearly see what lies ahead of us. Together with Condor Group we are in a much better position to invest and to innovate. We will continue to operate independently, and that can only be to the benefit of the customer.”

Integration strategy

The Betap name and brand is being continued because of its worldwide resonance in the sector. This means that within the largest wall-to-wall carpet segment, Betap will continue to independently serve the market with its own unique collection. The same applies for the BLOQ brand that concentrates on the contract market with carpet tiles.
