The Arab Woman Awards UAE 2020 celebrated extraordinary achievements in unprecedented times
The Arab Woman Awards UAE 2020 was the exciting crescendo of this year’s World of Fashion event at Mall of the Emirates.
The ceremony was hosted by Mony Helal, who began by explaining the history of the awards, “The Arab Women Awards were launched in 2009, by ITP Media Group to positively showcase women from the region. During the past decade, these awards have proudly highlighted the achievements of almost 400 talented, hard-working individuals.”
Previous winners of the Arab Women Awards have included Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Balqees Fathi and Ingie Chalhoub.
Helal mentioned this year’s award was being held “to help UN Women raise awareness for their COVID-19 initiatives and the awards are dedicated to the women who have been actively creating a positive impact through the pandemic.”
Held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al Nahyan offered his congratulations to this year’s winners and revealed, “Here in the UAE it is the women’s engagement and participation, that has enable our country to build a model of tolerance, co-existence and prosperity that is an example to the region and the world.”
