While asserting on Turkey’s relevance in global textile sector, he said that in 2017, Turkey’s contribution to US $ 515 billion global apparel market was 3.3 per cent.
“Turkey is the fifth largest apparel supplier globally and its importance cannot be overlooked,” said the TGSD President. He also said that the country had all the potential to increase its exports by ten times.
It is important to note that Turkey’s domestic garment market recorded an impressive US $ 34.2 billion in 2018 – an increase of 20 per cent from 2017.
