INRETEX ; Textile Recycling for Future

Interview with Joan Molina / INRETEX, S.L.

Could you please let us know more about INERTEX Spain, company activities, goals and success story?

INRETEX,  founded in 1997, has been created by the second generation dedicated to the recycling of textiles. This second-generation in addition to recycling is also engaged in the import of fibres from over the world for different textile industries.

INRETEX RECYCLE more than 2 million kg per year in their own facilities and other collaborators.

The final product is pulled materials and cut materials that have countless applications in the textile and automotive industries. They can be applied according to the quality of Spinning, Geotextile, Nonwoven, Fabrics, Automotive, Mattress, Insulation, Fillers, etc.

INRETEX ; Textile Recycling for Future

The main machinery for the recycling of post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste is the PULLING MACHINES and CUTTING MACHINES and BALED MACHINES.

The textile recycling industry in Spain

We could say that where there is a textile tradition and since it began there is, to varying degrees, activity of recycling waste and textile by-products. In Spain, it is in the Valencian Country and Catalonia where 90% of recycling is done.

What do you think about the Middle East and Africa textile market and it’s potentials?

I believe that the Middle East and African countries have huge potential in textile production and Africa will undoubtedly be the new destination of world textile production.

INRETEX ; Textile Recycling for Future

How do you evaluate the textile industry in post COVID period?

I think it’s a good opportunity for healthcare textile and masks making companies, but I personally hope it’s fleeting. In terms of production, in general, it can favour the productive sector of Africa and the Middle East to the detriment of the Chinese.

Do you have export to the region? Which countries in the Middle East and Africa is your main destination?

Our main customers are European, but we have some experience with some customers in Morocco as well as some suppliers in some Middle Eastern countries. We are starting to do market research in these areas.

Why textile recycling is important for human life and our planet?

Our activity is different from the production of fibre from plastic bottles, post-industrial, post-consumption and even collection from the sea. Our activity is the physical transformation of textile waste for various applications. Of course, both activities have always been and will be even more important to maintain a cleaner planet. To talk about recycling is to talk about sustainability, the accumulation of waste, the depletion of energy resources and the pollution that threatens the next generations are fought by recycling companies in general.
