The 21st International Istanbul Yarn Fair Opens with Record Participation

A Premier Event for the Textile Industry

The 21st International Istanbul Yarn Fair, one of the textile industry’s most anticipated events, officially opened on February 26 at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center. Year after year, the fair continues to break records, bringing together leading companies and professionals from around the world.

As a key gathering for the textile industry, this year’s fair showcases the latest innovations and trends in the yarn sector. With over 500 companies participating from countries such as Azerbaijan, China, Egypt, Germany, India, Uzbekistan, France, Italy, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, the event is expected to attract nearly 20,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. Attendees from Germany, France, Morocco, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Lebanon, Egypt, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Iran, Russia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine, Tunisia, and Algeria have shown significant interest.

“The World’s Largest and Only Yarn Fair is Opening”

In his opening speech, Ilhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap Exhibitions Production Inc., stated, “This event, which showcases all products related to the yarn industry, proudly holds the title of the world’s largest and only yarn fair. Our goal is to facilitate connections between visitors and exhibitors, making significant contributions to the industry’s production, exports, and both domestic and international trade.”

“We Will Contribute to Production and Exports within the Industry”

Governor of Uşak, Naci Aktaş, emphasized the economic significance of the event, saying, “This fair, which has attracted significant participation from both domestic and international markets, will enhance the sector’s production, exports, and trade while contributing to the national economy.”

Workshops and Exhibitions Enrich the Fair Experience

“Learning How to Read Weaving” with Fırat Neziroğlu

On the second day of the fair, globally recognized weaving artist Fırat Neziroğlu will host a workshop titled “Learning How to Read Weaving!” His contemporary approach to traditional weaving techniques, combined with a sustainability-oriented narrative, aims to inspire industry professionals.

“There is Art in Thread” Exhibition

The original designs from the Texture Fabric Design Contest, organized by the Southeast Anatolian Exporters’ Association (GAİB), are being showcased at the fair. The winning fabrics are displayed at the “There is Art in Thread” exhibition area for visitors to appreciate throughout the event.

“Wet Felt and Woodblock Printing” Workshop

The Istanbul Aydın University Fashion and Textile Design Department has prepared a “Wet Felt and Woodblock Printing” workshop, offering a unique experience for fair attendees. Visitors can engage in traditional handcrafts and create their own designs on the first and last days of the fair.

Trends Shaping the Future of the Industry

The fair presents innovative solutions in yarn types such as cotton, polyester, viscose, wool, and elastane. It provides opportunities for collaboration and highlights sustainability-driven technologies. Visitors can explore cutting-edge yarn materials, a fundamental element of the textile industry.

A Major Gathering in Istanbul, the Fashion Hub of Eurasia

With the largest professional visitor base from Europe, Asia, and the Balkans, the International Istanbul Yarn Fair solidifies its position as the leading industry gathering. The event ensures that Istanbul remains a pivotal hub for the textile sector, setting the stage for future advancements in yarn manufacturing and trade.
