RadiciGroup-Zero plastic pellet and dust loss to safeguard the environment

The manufacturer of synthetic fibers and yarns, RadiciGroup, Grandino/Italy, has expanded its Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) project – started up over one year ago in its engineering polymers business – to its Synthetic Fibers Business Area.

Noyfil SA Stabio/Switzerland, a company specializing in the manufacture of polyester continuous yarn, has joined OCS, an international program promoted by PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V., Frankfurt/Germany, with the goal of “Zero Pellet Loss”.
As part of Noyfil’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, a risk analysis has already been performed and an improvement action plan set down. After signing a commitment to OCS with PlasticsEurope and carrying out a first assessment, Noyfil SA is now moving ahead on steps 3 and 4 of the project: upgrading by implementing improvement actions and raising awareness by training all people concerned to give them a better understanding of the importance of OCS.
Radici plans to extend the OCS program gradually to all Group companies, taking into account the fact that all the industrial processes in the various business areas have already been set up to reduce any loss of microplastics.
Furthermore RadiciGroup will host a workshop at the K trade fair in Düsseldorf/Germany on October 22, 2019 entitled “Zero Pellet Loss. A value chain commitment”.
