Uzbekistan and Poland Discuss Expanding Textile and Technology Collaboration

A delegation from Uzbekistan, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, along with key textile industry enterprises, recently visited Poland to explore avenues for enhancing economic cooperation. The visit focused on increasing textile exports to Poland and incorporating modern Polish technologies into Uzbekistan’s textile sector.

During their stay, the Uzbek delegation engaged in several high-level meetings, including discussions with the Union of Polish Weavers and major companies like LEGS and PPHU JOLA-STYL in Łódź. These visits allowed the Uzbek representatives to review Polish operations and production processes firsthand.

A significant highlight of the visit was a trip to the GD Poland International Sp. z o.o. wholesale trade complex near Warsaw. Here, the delegation met with the complex’s president, Felix Wang, and Janusz Piechociński, president of the Poland-Asia Chamber of Commerce. During these discussions, an agreement was reached to establish a store dedicated to Uzbek textiles and footwear within the complex. The Polish side offered special discounts and rental benefits to support this initiative.

In addition to site visits, the embassy, in collaboration with the Poland-Asia Chamber of Commerce and GD Poland International Sp. z o.o., organized a business forum that attracted over 20 representatives from the business communities of both nations. The forum included G2B and B2B meetings where potential projects were discussed, such as the relocation of the Bangladeshi company Rusinagency and the Ukrainian Arlen Textile Group to Uzbekistan. Discussions also covered the introduction of new technologies to modernize Uzbekistan’s light industry.

Concrete agreements were reached between Uzbek enterprises, including Uztex Group, Aisha Home Textile, Korajon Textile, and Parvoz Humo Ravnaq Trans, and Polish companies such as Rusinagency, Arlen Textile Group, LEGS, PPHU JOLA-STYL, SWP, Ptak, and Colorinvest. These agreements focus on the supply of yarn, gauze, knitwear, underwear, and home textiles to Poland.

Both parties expressed a strong interest in participating in upcoming international textile exhibitions, including the ITMF Annual Conference & IAF World Fashion Convention in Samarkand (September 8-10), Fast Textile in Warsaw (November 19-21), and My TexStyle in Kielce (May 7-9, 2025).
