TITAS 2019 focuses on sustainability, smart textiles

The 23rd Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS 2019) was held from October 7-9 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, hall 1. This year, the focus of the show, was on topics like sustainability, smart and functional textiles. There were 350 exhibitors with more than 700 booths from all over the world, who gathered in the trade show.

TITAS is the only professional textile trade show in Taiwan, as well as the most important innovative textile exhibition in Asia.

The topic sustainability discussed about cutting down resource usage and optimising manufacturing efficiency to achieve zero discharge of hazardous substances by adopting eco-friendly materials and processes, whereas smart textiles discussed about combining cloud computing and advanced communication technology to provide wearable technology that is fashionable and comfortable. The topic functional applications threw light on applying multifunctional textiles to a new lifestyle across sports, outdoor, fashion, fitness and wellness; smart manufacturing discussed how it has utilised Industry 4.0 high-end technology production processes to automate the work of sewing ready-to-wear clothing, and used the smart applications of the internet, electronic business services and mobile apps to improve overall efficiency.
