Second round table of the WINTEX project was a success

A second round table is held under the theme: “Textile innovation centers: entrepreneurial opportunities, technology transfer, and innovation”.

This event organized by the Tunisian Association of Textile Researchers (ATCTex) in collaboration with the Monastir-El Fejja Competitiveness Pole (MFCPOLE), is attended by 41 participants: 27 academics (Directors, directors of Studies, Directors of Departments, laboratory directors, etc.), 8 manufacturers and 6 support structures; in the presence of the Directors General of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines and of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

By way of this meeting, the main points discussed during the first round table were recalled, a SWOT analysis on the textile sector was presented by the FTTH and another on education and research was presented by the LGTex.

During the discussion, several points were raised:
– The role of the centers and their positioning in the textile value chain (in harmony with the other existing structures)
– How to guarantee the sustainability of these centers: cover costs, renew equipment, development (based on similar experiences)
– Strengthening the networking of the various stakeholders in the textile value chain for good performance (the academic and industrial textile consultancy to be set up by the WINTEX project is one of the solutions).

The event was successfully held and allowed to discuss the strengths and opportunities of the textile sector in Tunisia and how to meet the challenges in the new capacity-building environment.
