XTech Integrates Q-SKIN® for Early-Season Outdoor Performance

With the arrival of warmer days, XTech, a Brescia-based specialist in Made in Italy technical sports socks and apparel, has unveiled a new selection of garments featuring Fulgar’s Q-SKIN® yarn. The collection targets cyclists, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts returning to training during the early spring season.

Designed to address variable weather conditions typical of early-season activities, the range includes high-performance technical socks, four-season tops in both soft and close fits, jackets and bib shorts. The garments are engineered to support comfort, breathability and performance for cycling, trekking and outdoor walking.

Silver-Ion Technology for Hygiene and Comfort

Q-SKIN® is a polyamide 6.6 fiber developed by Fulgar that incorporates silver ions directly into the yarn during the spinning process. The silver ions, which carry a positive charge, interact with negatively charged bacteria to help regulate bacterial proliferation.

According to Fulgar, laboratory tests have confirmed the yarn’s bacteriostatic effectiveness and resistance to repeated washing, demonstrating efficacy against common Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

During physical activity, Q-SKIN® helps reduce odor development and bacterial growth while maintaining breathability and skin comfort—an important advantage for athletes resuming outdoor training after winter.

Focus on Performance and Seasonal Transition

Samuele Ragnoli, owner of XTech, said the spring collection was developed with early-season outdoor training in mind. “Outdoor sports enthusiasts need garments that guarantee performance and comfort, especially when returning to regular training. Using advanced materials like Q-SKIN® allows athletes to fully enjoy every moment of the warm season,” he noted.

Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar, emphasized the importance of functional apparel during seasonal transitions. She highlighted Q-SKIN® as a value-added solution for cyclists and hikers seeking performance and well-being during their first outdoor sessions of the year.

By integrating advanced fiber technology into its spring lineup, XTech reinforces its focus on combining innovation, hygiene and performance for outdoor sports enthusiasts.
