Manifattura Italiana Cucirini (MIC) Spa and Shima Seiki Italia: two excellences once again together for the capsule collection by Vittorio Branchizio

The 90th edition of Pitti Immagine Filati was the setting for the renewed collaboration between two important companies in the world of yarns and knitwear: Manifattura Italiana Cucirini and Shima Seiki Italia.

Shima Seiki Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the Japanese company world leader in the sale of rectilinear knitting machines, presented the new collection created by Vittorio Branchizio, Art Director of Shima Seiki Italia, in a combination of style, research of yarns and increasingly high technical capabilities. The 12 outfits capsule, was designed the aim of combining the peculiarities of materials and of knitwear techniques .

Shima Seiki Italia has found the ideal partner, precisely in Manifattura Italiana Cucirini, for inspiration and attention to detail and for the production of innovative yarns.

MIC Spa is a company based in Verona that boasts over 40 years of history in the production of sewing threads, embroidery and knitwear for fashion, footwear and furniture. Yarns are designed for each specific production sector and are always new, in line with the most advanced production technologies.

The company has decided to move towards an increasingly sustainable approach, becoming one of the main players in the green turning by adhering to the 4sustainability® roadmap. A real way towards sustainability that will allow Manifattura Italiana Cucirini to be more and more compliant with the MRSL ZDHC and specific SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals 6, 14, 17).

This path is in addition to that already undertaken by the Italian Manufacture Cucirini, to work on the careful choice of raw materials, to offer the market yarns made from recycled polyester post-consumer certified GRS, yarns with fibers derived from the wood of controlled forests, biodegradable nylon yarns and GOTS certified organic cotton yarns.

For the Vittorio Branchizio collection, MIC Spa has created an exclusive yarn called, the Shirema. This yarn is the perfect combination of technique and aesthetics: it has been used in the creation of a bomber jacket, entirely knitted using fibers of different raw materials, with the Shima SRY183LPSC 16G machine, to which the Shirema has given the reflective effect desired by VB. Thanks to its special final structure, this yarn developed specifically for this processing in the machine, has allowed solving the specific technical problems that appeared in the production phase of the garment.

The collection EMOTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES by Vittorio Branchizio, offers new design and stories to tell, and challenges us in the combination of fibers traditionally used in knitwear, such as wool and cotton, fibers of different nature, allowing new aesthetic effects and fit, which are revealed in the different clothing of the capsule.
In combination with viscose and other fibers, the MIC Leaf yarn was used for the realization of a coat. High biodegradability nylon yarn, which in an anaerobic environment degrades in 5 years, Leaf gives the garment an effect of softness and comfort without equal.

For the realization of a T-shirt has been combined in vanisé to 50/50 wool and STR thread of MIC. Super thin yarn, high strength, able to give a strong contrast, generated by the brilliance of the colors and silky hand of STR, in contrast with the opacity and comfort of the wool.
