Işıksoy Textile: A Legacy of Innovation and Quality in the Textile Industry

At the 2025 Colombiatex exhibition, we had the pleasure of interviewing Ms. Arzu Işık, Managing Director of Işıksoy Textile, a company with a rich history and a forward-looking approach to the textile industry. Established in 1954, Işıksoy Textile has become a leader in the production of high-quality yarns, fabrics, and textiles, employing over 1,000 people and serving both domestic and international markets. With an unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, the company continues to expand its global presence.

The Beginning of a Textile Legacy

Işıksoy Textile has been a prominent player in the textile industry for over six decades. “Hello, my name is Arzu Işık. I am one of the company owners, representing the second generation,” shared Ms. Işık. “Our company, established in 1954, has been in the textile business for six decades. We operate in five different textile areas: weaving, texturing, spinning, dyeing, finishing, and printing. We employ nearly 1,000 people and are very strong in the textile business, particularly in fabrics and yarn.”

From its humble beginnings, Işıksoy Textile has grown to become a powerhouse in textile manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on quality and innovation. The company is known for producing fabrics and yarns that cater to both men’s and women’s fashion, ensuring its continued relevance in a constantly evolving industry.

The company’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its strong export business. “We export our yarn and fabric to various regions, focusing on export business,” Ms. Işık explained. “Our yarn exports go to European countries, Russia, and Italy, where we have a particularly strong presence.” Işıksoy Textile is now looking to expand its reach into South America, further diversifying its market and strengthening its global position.

In addition to its solid footing in Europe and Russia, the company is particularly excited about its first-time participation in Colombiatex. “This is our first time at this exhibition, and we’re delighted to be here because of the large number of attendees. I believe most companies should participate here as exhibitors, as there’s a huge market,” Ms. Işık added.

Cutting-Edge Production and Technological Expertise

Işıksoy Textile is renowned for its advanced production facilities and state-of-the-art technology. “By keeping up with our constantly changing world and forecasting future trends in men’s and women’s fashion, we produce fabrics, prepare our own collections with technological knowledge, and achieve a monthly production capacity of 5,000,000 meters,” Ms. Işık explained. “We create value for our customers through our innovation and high-quality production.”

The company’s production capacity spans a wide range of textile products, from yarns to fabrics. Işıksoy Textile is particularly known for its expertise in yarn production, including textured and gipe yarns in polyester, nylon, and their blends. Through ongoing research and development (R&D), the company continues to expand its product offerings, ensuring it stays ahead of industry trends and customer demands.

Sustainability and Environmental Commitment

Sustainability is at the core of Işıksoy Textile’s operations. The company has made significant investments in renewable energy and environmental-friendly production processes. “By investing in GES and RES, our company increases its environmental sensitivity through the use of renewable energy every day, while also prioritizing sustainability with its social policies,” said Ms. Işık.

The company’s focus on sustainability is reflected in its production processes, which are designed to minimize the environmental impact. Işıksoy Textile has adopted eco-friendly practices across its operations, including water and energy conservation, waste management, and the use of environmentally friendly chemicals. “Our goal is to contribute to sustainability while maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of our production,” Ms. Işık emphasized.

Diversified Product Range and Expertise

Işıksoy Textile offers a diverse range of textile products, catering to various sectors, including woven fabric manufacturers, circular knitting fabric producers, and sock manufacturers. The company’s production capabilities extend to denim fabrics, seamless fabrics, and various specialty fabrics. “We provide custom, fast, and innovative design solutions tailored for our clients across various segments, ensuring high-quality standards and endless design possibilities,” Ms. Işık noted.

The company’s extensive product portfolio includes fabrics made from viscose, cotton, lyocell, nylon, bamboo, and other innovative materials. Its brand “Sem” offers polyester and nylon elastane-coated yarns to fabric manufacturers, circular knitters, and sock manufacturers, further demonstrating Işıksoy Textile’s versatility and dedication to innovation.

Commitment to Quality and Innovation

The company’s commitment to quality is evident in its advanced machinery and rigorous quality control processes. “We have a strong focus on producing woven clothing fabrics with an annual capacity of 50 million meters,” Ms. Işık explained. “We use high-tech jacquard and armure weaving machines, along with conical and series warping machines, to ensure precision and efficiency in our production.”

Işıksoy Textile’s dyeing and printing facilities are also integral to its success. “Our dyeing facility offers various finishing processes tailored to fabric quality, providing different touch sensations that appeal to our customers. We also have a digital printing facility that ensures fast production capabilities with high technology,” Ms. Işık stated. These facilities ensure that the company can meet the demands of even the most discerning customers.

Işıksoy Textile’s commitment to excellence has been recognized through numerous awards and certifications. “We have received the Bursa Settlement Award and the Turkey Innovation League Award, which further demonstrate our dedication to innovation and quality,” Ms. Işık said. Additionally, the company has been included in the Turquality/Brand Support Program, which is aimed at driving sustainable global growth, increasing exports, and providing innovative solutions.

The company adheres to international standards, including ISO certifications for quality management, environmental management, and occupational health and safety. These certifications underscore Işıksoy Textile’s dedication to maintaining high standards across all aspects of its operations.
