Groz-Beckert, the world’s leading supplier of industrial machine needles and textile precision tools, has announced a new technical cooperation with machine builder Borgfly, resulting in the development of a customized LCmax™ knitting needle tailored specifically to Borgfly’s machine technology.
The collaboration focused on addressing a highly specific knitting requirement. Borgfly was seeking a needle hook geometry that could precisely match its proprietary loop-merging technology, a critical factor for achieving optimal machine performance and fabric quality. Based on this request, Groz-Beckert’s engineering team developed a completely new hook geometry within the LCmax™ needle series.
According to the companies, the first functional prototype was completed in just four weeks, highlighting the speed and efficiency of the co-creation process.
Co-Creation for Machine-Specific Performance
The customized LCmax™ needle was designed through close technical cooperation between both engineering teams. By aligning needle design directly with machine functionality, the solution enables maximum performance, higher reliability, and improved knitting precision.
The results of the cooperation were officially presented at ShanghaiTex, where visitors were able to see the new needle in operation and experience the enhanced knitting technology first-hand.
