Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) Sunday organised a camp for distribution of ration and medicines among the poor artisans and their families at Srinagar.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Umar Hameed, Vice-Chairman CEPC, Shiekh Ashiq, Member COA and President KCCI and Ghulam Nabi Bhatt.
Shahid Chodhury, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Hanief Balki, Additional Deputy Commissioner and other district officers were present on the occasion.
Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman CEPC thanked the Committee of Administration (COA) for supporting this noble cause.
Pertinently, the Carpet Export Promotion Council has already donated Rs. 10 Lakh towards PM CARES Fund and the staff of the Council has also contributed their one day salary towards the PM CARES.
Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC and whole Committee of Administration (COA) CEPC have decided that the Council will, as support to the poor artisans and their families, will contribute further Rs 1 lakh each for three districts of Bhadohi, Mirzapur and Srinagar for the medicines and ration.
On 5th August, 2020 a camp was organized for distribution of ration and medicines to the poor artisans and their families in CEPC’S regional office at Srinagar.
Choudhry appreciated the efforts of Carpet Export Promotion Council for donating generously for the weavers of Srinagar. He further mentioned about the unique large sized Handmade Carpet 35×70 which is under the manufacturing process and is getting ready very soon in the District Baramulla.
Umer Hamid, Vice- chairman, CEPC welcomed the officials with a bouquet of floors and mentioned that its a privilege for CEPC that senior officials of the district spared their valuable time for the distribution ceremony.
He further thanked Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman of Carpet Export Promotion Council for taking the effort for this noble cause for brilliant idea for this noble cause.
During his message Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman CEPC thanked the all colleagues of Committee of Administration (COA) for their wonderful support for supporting the cause while organising this programme.
Sanjay Kumar, Executive Director, CEPC congratulated the entire team and mentioned that Council stands firmly to support its artisans and their families of the valley at the time of need.
Sheikh Ashiq, COA member CEPC and President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce extended formal vote of thanks to dignitaries and appreciated the efforts of Chairman CEPC for his intervention for the weavers of Srinagar.
