Apparel and textile shows by Messe Frankfurt witness record visitation

Recently concluded events, Apparel Sourcing Paris, Avantex Paris, Leatherworld Paris, Shawls & Scarves Paris, Texworld Paris and Texworld Denim Paris saw increased participation and visitation from worldwide, this time.

According to the information shared by Messe Frankfurt, the world’s largest trade fair organiser and is also the company behind the above mentioned events, the 16th session of the Apparel Sourcing Paris and Shawls & Scarves Paris shows, witnessed record breaking exhibitors counting to 366 and 26, respectively.

As for Asia, it has also demonstrated overall growth in attendance of 14%, and in particular with India (up 13%).  With a strong increase compared to February 2018; 13,929 visitors were a new record high in terms of attendance for these shows.

“Summer 2020 was definitely foremost in prime contractors’ minds. Shawls & Scarves, therefore, met with great success thanks to the profusion of scarves and shawls in cotton fabrics, mostly from India, but with some from China.” – Messe Frankfurt

The products offered at Apparel Sourcing Paris are very diverse in terms of specialization (from suits to sportswear, innerwear, dresses and blouses), techniques (bespoke tailoring, knitwear, accessories etc.) and ranges (for men, women, and children), aimed at every budget.

Similarly, the 44th session of Texworld Paris had 696 exhibitors from 20 countries with some top Indian companies too. “Some customers only come to look for firms whose innovative production respects the environment, for recycled or for organic products,” informed Aditya Sawant, HOD, Design Studio, Nahar Industrial Enterprises.

Indian hand embroidery firm Ankita Exports, a regular exhibitor at Texworld Paris also shared, “As a company for hand embroidery, one might categorize us under evening and cocktail wear or bridal wear, but ready-to-wear brands at the forefront of fashion aren’t lagging behind and approached us to collaborate on finishes for clothing that will stand out.”

The 4th session of Texworld Denim, the trade show for sourcing denim textiles and clothing, drew some thirty exhibitors from the all-important countries for the denim sector: Bangladesh. China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey.

For Bangladeshi company NZ Denim, this show was a success, as its director Tareq Mamun Chawdhury shared, this show was really excellent, the major European ready-to-wear labels came to meet us, but some good American firms too. We also experienced considerable interest in our non-denim products.
