ALPHA 580 UNIVERSAL: A New Benchmark in Carpet Weaving Technology

At ITMA Asia 2025, Stäubli showcased distinctive carpet samples woven on the ALPHA 580 UNIVERSAL, its flagship model from the Schönherr Carpet Weaving Systems series. Engineered to meet the ever-evolving demands of modern carpet production, the ALPHA 580 UNIVERSAL combines exceptional versatility, high productivity, and superior weaving quality.

Supporting a wide range of carpet styles: cut pile, shaggy, sisal, loop pile, reverse, and more, this system offers weaving widths of up to 5.3 meters. Its compact design ensures easy yarn handling, while its robust construction guarantees high operational reliability and long service life, making the ALPHA 580 UNIVERSAL a true benchmark in carpet weaving technology.

Advantages

  • Up to 92 colour combinations can be realized on an 8-frame machine due to the possible double and triple point technique.
  • Depending on the reed density up to 16 colours are possible.
  • Low, mid-range and high-density carpets can be produced.
  • Up to 33,792 pile threads by combining four Jacquard machines on the top.
  • The system offers exceptional operational reliability.

Stäubli is now introducing a standout innovation for the ALPHA 580 UNIVERSAL: the new 2+1 rapier option. This advanced configuration allows production with three rapiers: two active and one passive, unlocking greater design flexibility and optimizing material usage.

Ideal for complex carpet structures and creative patterns, the 2+1 rapier system delivers maximum productivity without compromising precision or carpet quality. With this enhancement, Stäubli reaffirms its commitment to providing cutting-edge weaving solutions tailored to the evolving demands of the carpet industry.

Additionnaly, Stäubli will be present at January Trade Shows: ICFE in Istanbul, Heimtextil in Frankfurt, and DOMOTEX in Hannover, to meet, connect and engage with industry professionals, customers and partners.
