Sustainable footwear and apparel maker Allbirds has already found international recognition and is now looking to create a foothold in South Korea.
The brand has a following in the country and retail expansion to Korea has been high on the destination list as the company makes its Wool Runner product in Busan.
“As we continue to expand our international footprint, we’re excited to finally enter the Korean market and connect with our existing community here, further establishing the brand of Allbirds as an important sustainable fashion player in Asia,” said Sandeep Verma, Allbird’s Head of International commented on the expansion strategy.
With an expansion to South Korea, the brand is opening doors to strengthen its presence in greater Asia.
After launching and building Allbirds’s Europe arm in 2018, Sandeep has successfully led a team of 40 in opening four brick-and-mortar locations in Berlin, London and Amsterdam and has expanded the e-commerce business to include 28 European countries in just 18 months.
The San-Francisco-based company was founded by ex-New Zealand footballer Tim Brown and quickly grew from just an online store to global brand now catering to 35 countries and operating over 20 stores worldwide.
