The ACIMIT Green Label Award ceremony was held on June 8, 2023, at Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, bringing together representatives of the Italian textile machinery industry, ACIMIT, the Italian Trade Agency and members of the international textile press.
Organized during the opening day of ITMA Milan 2023, the event highlighted the textile machinery sector’s growing commitment to energy efficiency, sustainable manufacturing and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.
Pafasystem and Brazzoli Receive the ACIMIT Green Label Award
Italian textile machinery manufacturers Pafasystem S.r.l. and Brazzoli S.r.l. received the ACIMIT Green Label Award in recognition of their efforts to reduce the carbon footprint generated during the operation of their machinery.
The two companies achieved some of the best percentage reductions in carbon footprint values among more than 40 ACIMIT member companies participating in the association’s Sustainable Technologies project.
Pafasystem, based in Prato, specializes in machinery for spinning and fancy yarn production, while Brazzoli, based in Senago near Milan, develops advanced fabric dyeing technologies.
The award recognized the measurable progress made by both manufacturers in improving machinery efficiency and reducing the environmental impact associated with textile production.
ACIMIT Promotes Sustainable Textile Machinery
ACIMIT has been working on environmental and economic sustainability through its Sustainable Technologies project since 2010. The initiative encourages Italian machinery manufacturers to develop technologies capable of reducing energy consumption, emissions and production costs.
The ACIMIT Green Label standard certified by RINA is designed to measure and communicate the energy and environmental performance of textile machinery. Its main environmental indicator is the amount of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions generated during a defined production cycle.
Through the Green Label Award, ACIMIT recognizes manufacturers that have demonstrated a measurable commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their machinery and advancing sustainable technology across the textile industry.
Sustainability at ITMA Milan 2023
Sustainability and digitalization were among the central themes presented by Italian machinery manufacturers at ITMA Milan 2023. Exhibitors introduced technologies designed to reduce water, energy and raw material consumption while improving the efficiency of textile production processes.
The Green Label Award reflected the broader commitment of the Italian textile machinery sector to innovation and sustainable manufacturing. The event also formed part of ACIMIT and the Italian Trade Agency’s activities supporting the international presence of Italian machinery manufacturers.
Following the exhibition, ACIMIT reported on the success of Italian textile machinery manufacturers at ITMA Milan, where sustainable technologies played a prominent role among the solutions presented by Italian exhibitors.
