[Industry Titans Make an Appearance] A senior expert with 35 years of experience in SPG/Stork digital printing is about to take the lead at the 2025 Global Textile Digital Printing Conference Guangzhou Summit.

ITCPE, 2025/03/21 19:00 Guangdong
Guest of Honor: Jos Notermans

From technology innovator to strategy consultant

At the 2025 Global Textile Digital Printing Conference Guangzhou Summit, Jos Notermans, an authoritative expert in the international digital printing field of textiles, has confirmed his attendance and will deliver a significant speech at the conference. In this summit, with the topic of “Mid-term ITMA: Have the Expectations in 2023 Been Fulfilled and What Will the Future of Digital Printing Bring?”, he will present a grand feast of in-depth industry insights for global practitioners.

In this speech, Jos will start from the industry expectations at the ITMA exhibition in Milan in 2023 and explore how the digital textile printing market has developed amidst the continued geopolitical conflicts over the past two years. Have pigments lived up to their promises? Have the sustainability initiatives been realized? And what can we expect in the next two years before the ITMA in 2027?

Jos Noterman

Personal Profile:

Jos Notermans studied mechanical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and completed his graduation thesis in the field of mechatronics. He designed the carriage precision drive for the first digital textile printer developed for Stork X-cell. After finishing his studies in 1990, Jos accepted a job in the research and development department and embarked on his career in digital printing at Stork in Boxmeer, the Netherlands.

As a mechatronics engineer, he participated in the development projects of multiple inkjet systems and led the development of several generations of inkjet printers, which were applied in graphic and textile printing.

From 1997 to 2005, Jos was responsible for managing the joint venture between Stork and DuPont in the field of graphic arts proofing. In 2001, he started to take charge of Stork’s digital textile printing business. In the same year, he co-founded one of the earliest digital textile production printing companies, DPA (Thailand), together with the Yeh Group, and sampling studios were set up in New York City and Sri Lanka. In 2007, he returned to Stork Prints to lead the digital textile printing department.

In recent years, the digital textile printing business has become the main expanding business of SPGPrints (formerly known as Stork Prints), covering inks and printers. Jos was the initiator of the development of SPGPrints’ PIKE® single-pass printer and its derivative scanning printer JAVELIN®. He personally introduced these products at the ITMA in Milan, Italy in 2015.

With the growth of the digital textile department, he decided to focus on designing and implementing the development roadmap, price positioning, product portfolio management, as well as the product lifecycle management related to digital printing machines and inks. At the end of 2021, he started to work as a product sales manager for digital textile machines at SPGPrints Austria.

After working at Stork/SPGPrints for more than 35 years, Jos decided to fulfill his dream and become an independent consultant at the end of 2024. With these 35 years of experience, he has established a vast global network of experts and customers, especially in the fields of digital printing and textiles. This network, combined with his experience in research and development, sales, marketing, product management, and business management, will make him an extremely valuable consultant in the industry.

As one of the highly influential industry events in the global digital printing field, the 2025 Global Textile Digital Printing Conference Guangzhou Summit, with the theme of “Digital Intelligence-driven, Green Empowerment, and Cross-border Integration”, will gather outstanding domestic and foreign scholars, technical experts, and representatives of high-quality enterprises in the industrial chain to jointly explore the paths of technological innovation and industrial upgrading in digital printing.

The one-day conference will cover the latest technological advancements and innovations from printing OEMs in Europe, the United States, and Japan, with content ranging from machinery, inks, software, to substrates, etc. At the same time, the conference will also assess the development trends and business opportunities in the Chinese market, as well as the opportunities for Western companies to develop partnerships in China, providing valuable insights and opportunities for networking and socializing.
