Turkish Textile Participation at Colombiamoda

Colombiamoda Celebrates 35 Years with Global Impact and Turkish Participation

Colombiamoda, Colombia’s premier fashion event, celebrated its 35th anniversary with a record-breaking attendance of over 70,500 visitors from more than 40 countries. This year’s event highlighted the internationalization of the fashion industry, featuring a special participation from Turkish fabric and yarn producers who met South American textile buyers and artisans.

Turkish fabric and yarn producers met South American textile buyers in Colombia

In one of South America’s most significant textile and clothing events, 14 Turkish companies displayed their latest collections and met with business partners. These companies participated through Kuzey Expo Istanbul, the official representative of the Colombia Fashion Show in Turkey. The presence of Turkish exhibitors added a new dimension to Colombiamoda, showcasing the growing global integration of the textile industry.

Mr. Ramzan Besli from Meric Yarn Company:
“Colombiamoda is a wonderful event for the clothing and fashion sector. The upcoming Colombia Tex in January could be crucial for Turkish yarn and fabric manufacturers. We found this market very promising. The connections we’ve made here are invaluable, and we look forward to strengthening our business relationships in South America.”

Mr. Murat Beyhan from BEYHAN Textile Company:
“It is the first time that we are present in this event as a Turkish pavilion. The market has great potential, and the variety and quality of products of Turkish companies can be successful here. Our presence in this exhibition was very successful, and we have planned to attend this market for at least three more periods. The exhibition, and of course the Turkish pavilion, was organized with a strong plan. As we have already been able to export our products to European markets, South America also has this potential. The feedback from buyers has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited about the future prospects.”

Mr. Tuncay Karasu, CEO of Arta Tekstil Company:
“The exhibition is very good and far beyond our expectations. The products we brought to the exhibition were very well received, and we will definitely have a good market here. Textile exporting companies in Turkey should overcome the current crisis by focusing on exports and higher value-added products. Certainly, with the decline of any market, other markets around the world grow. The South American market is one of the growing markets in the future that we should not neglect. The enthusiasm and interest shown by the attendees have reaffirmed our belief in the potential of this market.”

The next edition of this exhibition will be held in January, focusing on the raw materials of fabric, yarn, and textile machinery, while the July edition will be more focused on fashion and clothing.

Mr. Ergun Karabulut, CEO of Kuzey Expo:
“We are very happy to contribute to the increase in the export of Turkish textile products to the markets of South America, especially Colombia. The products of our companies can easily compete in the market and gain more share of this important market. Being in Colombia means penetrating all South American markets, and we hope that in the next period of this exhibition, by increasing the size of the Turkish pavilion, we will have more companies by our side to participate in this big market. The strategic importance of Colombiamoda for Turkish companies cannot be overstated. It serves as a gateway to South America, offering unparalleled opportunities for growth and expansion.”
