Turkish Textile, Apparel, and Footwear Retail Sales Volume Declines in June

Retail sales volume of textiles, apparel, and footwear in Turkey witnessed a year-on-year (YoY) decline of 1.8 percent in June 2024, with a month-on-month (MoM) decrease of 0.7 percent, according to the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat).

The overall retail sales volume across all sectors also showed a downward trend, decreasing by 1.1 percent YoY and 1 percent MoM in June. This marks a broader slowdown in consumer spending within the country.

In contrast, wholesale trade sales volume experienced a YoY decrease of 2.5 percent but saw a slight MoM increase of 0.8 percent. Retail trade sales volume, on the other hand, grew by 8.6 percent YoY and 1.7 percent MoM, highlighting a mixed performance across different segments of the market.
