One of the leading experts in the Turkish carpets and flooring industry believes that: “Corona made it difficult for us to meet with foreign clients in a third country, Germany; therefore all our clients are welcomed directly in Turkey. Both parties benefited greatly from their visit to our plant and manufacturing facilities. Nearly all Turkish exporting businesses have fulfilled their contracts in this manner for several years. The exhibition deficit was supplied particularly by American and European carpet importers and dealers who value Turkish machine-made carpets’ brilliance and affordability. It is one of the key factors preventing many Turkish businesses from participating in Domotex 2023.”
Iran Is Not Present in D0motex 2023
No company can participate in Domotex 2023 since the German Embassy does not give visas to Iranian companies. Domotex Hannover suffered a major loss due to Germany’s refusal to give visas to Iranians, and at least 1000 square meters of exhibit hall were condensed.
The German government’s refusal to issue visas not only struck the Domotex exhibition a serious blow but was also exceedingly costly for Iranian enterprises who wanted to attend the expo. Due to the economic sanctions, Iran’s machine-made carpet manufacturers, which need exports and find it difficult to engage with foreign clients and buyers, miss out on the chance to interact directly with them and incur hefty expenditures.
Additionally, due to economic and political sanctions, visiting Iran and making deals with Iranian manufacturers is impossible. As a result, international people in business are unwilling to take this risk and prefer to start trading easily and laid back with provider countries like Turkey. Thus, Iranian businesses experience far greater losses.
Domotex’s real contribution to the growth of carpet producers’ exports is to be noticed.
Turkey and the Decision Between Hosting and Being Guest

Domotex Hannover’s sister event, Domotex Turkey in Gaziantep city, can be a significant rival to Domotex Hannover, especially when Turkish carpet manufacturers are forced to pick between Domotex Hanover and Turkey because of different political and economic factors, such as visa restrictions, price and cost increases, transportation, etc.
Even if the Domotex brand is well-known and has a solid framework, it must be acknowledged that participant decisions might occasionally affect it. Particularly Turkish companies contribute significantly to Domotex in terms of the number of booths, attendees, goods, etc.
