South Korean dye manufacturer Ohyoung Inc., in partnership with TeXco Tech of Bangladesh, hosted the 2025 Bangladesh Technical Seminar in Dhaka, marking a significant step toward greener, more efficient practices in the country’s textile industry. The seminar brought together over 450 textile and apparel industry leaders, highlighting the critical role of sustainability, technology, and Korea–Bangladesh cooperation in driving the sector’s future.
The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Park Young-sik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, Ohyoung President Jinwook Chung, and Jinhak Heo, Director General of KOTRA Dhaka, alongside senior executives and technical experts from both countries.
Ambassador Park praised the strength of Korean investments in Bangladesh’s RMG sector, particularly through the Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ). He stressed the importance of the upcoming Korea–Bangladesh Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), calling it a “game-changer” for bilateral trade with special potential for the textile and apparel sector. Park also reaffirmed Korea’s commitment to supporting Bangladesh’s supply chain innovation and industrial development.
KOTRA Dhaka’s Director General Jinhak Heo echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of Korean technology partnerships in enabling Bangladeshi manufacturers to meet international standards for sustainability, quality, and traceability.
The seminar featured multiple technical sessions led by Ohyoung’s experts. Jungho (Kevin) Choi provided a detailed analysis of global regulatory frameworks such as the EU Green Deal, which are rapidly reshaping expectations for sustainable production. Sangchul Choi showcased Ohyoung’s portfolio of eco-friendly dyes, developed to minimize water, energy, and chemical consumption while enhancing fabric performance.
President Jinwook Chung reaffirmed Ohyoung’s dedication to delivering dyes that support product diversification, reduce environmental impact, and meet the evolving demands of global buyers. “Sustainability is no longer a trend—it’s at the heart of our innovation strategy,” he stated.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which participants explored strategies for implementing process optimization and piloting Ohyoung’s technologies in local production facilities.
Managing Partner Md. Anwarul Haque Tutul of TeXco Tech expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to elevate Bangladesh’s standing as a global leader in sustainable textile manufacturing. He highlighted the growing demand for eco-conscious practices, and how partnerships like this are vital for long-term industry growth.
