Inditex, the Spanish fashion powerhouse behind Zara, has officially launched its youth-focused brand Pull & Bear in the United States, marking its entry into the American market as an online-only retailer.
With this move, U.S. shoppers can now order Pull & Bear’s fashion collections directly through its website, making the U.S. the brand’s 34th online market worldwide. The launch reflects Inditex’s broader digital strategy to make its products available “in every corner of the globe” by 2020.
Competing in a Youth-Driven Market
Pull & Bear’s entry into the U.S. brings new competition to established youth-oriented brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch’s Hollister Co., Forever 21, and Brandy Melville. The brand aims to capture the attention of young American consumers with its casual and trend-driven collections.
In line with this strategy, Pull & Bear has released a limited-edition collection inspired by Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things.” The themed T-shirts highlight the brand’s growing engagement with pop culture, despite Inditex’s traditionally cautious approach to advertising and promotional campaigns.
Inditex’s Expanding Presence
Inditex already operates 94 Zara stores, three Massimo Dutti boutiques, and one Bershka outlet across the United States. Globally, the company runs over 7,000 stores under eight brands across 96 countries, underscoring its position as one of the most influential players in the global fashion industry.
