Indian ITME Society holds machinery exhibition in Ethiopia

Over 100 exhibitors from 15 African, Asian and European countries showcased their products during the International Textile Machinery and Engineering Exhibition (ITME-Africa 2020) held in Addis Ababa from February 14 to 16. It was organised by the Indian ITME Society in partnership with the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA).

This year’s theme was ‘Prosperity for Africa through textile technology’, according to a press release from the organisers.

Being Ethiopia’s second-largest investment partner as a nation with an approved investment of over $4 billion, India’s total trade with Ethiopia stood at $1.27 billion in 2017-18. Out of this, a staggering $1.22 billion has been India’s export to Ethiopia, while Ethiopia’s export to India accounted for $45 million, as per the annual report of Ethiopia’s National Bank.
