The head of the Islamic-Iranian Arts university of Master Farshchian said that due to the efforts of the Cultural Heritage Organization, the UNESCO National Committee and Master Farshchian University, Persian art of miniature was nationally registered.
Bahman Namvar Motlaq has announced the cooperation of the Islamic-Iranian Arts University of Master Farshchian with the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization on the national and international registration of Iranian noble arts.Â
He said that Turkey and Azerbaijan wanted to register the Persian art of miniature in the name of their country, which was stopped by measures of taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He argued that the Persian art of miniature, dating back more than four centuries, was registered in the Committee on National Registration of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and went on to say, ‘Given the importance of this issue and the existence of well-documented evidence on the history of art of miniature in Iran, a joint effort by the Cultural Heritage Organization, the UNESCO National Committee and Master Farshchian University, this art was nationally registered.Â
Stressing that this move will accelerate the global registration of Persian art of miniature in the UNESCO World List, Namvar said that in order to show that the art of miniature continues to be vibrant in Iran and does not belong only to the past, in our documents, we have proved that Iran has used miniature in handicrafts, textile, carpets, etc in addition to painting.
He highlighted, ‘To prove this, Master Mahmoud Farshchian has been listed as one of the most prominent and most renowned contemporary artists in the list of living human treasures and cultural heritage messengers, and this is the first national registration of a miniaturist on this list.
