Texworld NYC is the premier event for textile and fabric sourcing and welcomes attendees to the Jacob Javits Center from January 21-23. The German company emtec Electronic plans to continue its success story of objectively measuring haptic parameters of fabrics and apparels by showcasing the TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer at its booth and giving a presentation on how to optimize communication in the textile industry supply chain with the help of objective softness measurement and the digital use of test results.
Recognized with the Techtextil NA Innovation Award 2024 in the “New Product” category, the emtec TSA Tactile Sensation Analyzer measures and digitizes various parameters of the haptic impression when touching fabrics and apparels. These objective measured values enable the reliable comparison of the haptic properties of products and can be used in process and product optimization, research and development, quality assurance and troubleshooting.
Emtec Electronic GmbH, based in Leipzig (Germany), has been developing, producing and distributing innovative testing solutions worldwide since 1995. The company has its origins in the pulp and paper industry, but has also been successful in the nonwoven and textile industries since 2015. Quality, outstanding customer service paired with intuitive, user-friendly innovations: That is what emtec stands for.
Originally developed for the tissue paper industry to objectively measure the hand feel of tissue products in 2005, the adapted emtec TSA offers updated and additional functions as well as the connection to the cloud-based database named Virtual Haptic Library. By simulating the human hand, the emtec TSA provides objective measurement results on haptic parameters such as softness, smoothness, stretch and recovery behavior.
In addition, the innovative TSA provides information on friction and thermal properties, and takes a photo of the sample. By combining the device with the Virtual Haptic Library, the ecological footprint is reduced and time and costs are saved at the same time.
Emtec´s Global Business Development Manager and TSA expert Alexander Gruener and his team will welcome visitors at Texworld NYC to the emtec booth and answer questions on the latest developments in the field of haptic testing, including the new options with the Virtual Haptic Library. In addition, Gruener will give an exhibitor pitch about “Optimization of the supply chain communication in the textile industry by the help of objective softness measurement and digital utilization of the test results” at 11:15 a.m. on January 22nd.
