Trützschler Nonwovens: Navigating the Challenges and Opportunities of Textile Machinery Trade Shows

In the dynamic world of textile machinery exhibitions, Trützschler Nonwovens, part of the renowned Trützschler Group, continues to strengthen its global presence by carefully navigating the landscape of numerous international and regional trade fairs. Jutta Stehr, Head of Marketing at Trützschler Nonwovens, recently shared insights into the benefits and challenges these events present for textile machinery manufacturers, particularly within the specialized field of nonwoven production.

As global textile machinery trade shows grow in number, manufacturers face both unique advantages and logistical hurdles. “For nonwoven machinery suppliers, multiple exhibitions offer great benefits but also pose challenges,” explained Stehr. “These platforms allow us to engage directly with customers, understand their evolving needs, and showcase our latest products. They also provide us with market insights, especially since many nonwoven events focus on end products, helping us stay attuned to industry trends.”

Balancing Global Textile Machinery Trade Shows

However, the demand on resources is significant, especially when machinery demonstrations are involved. Trützschler Nonwovens finds that successful participation requires substantial planning, starting well before the show and extending into post-exhibition follow-up. “Each exhibition demands thorough preparation and significant investment to be effective,” said Stehr.

When asked about the optimal frequency and format of exhibitions, Stehr highlighted the value of a balanced approach. “An annual, smaller show can foster meaningful exchanges, while a large-scale event with machinery displays might be more effective on a 2-3 year cycle,” she noted, pointing to the importance of strategically spaced events tailored to regional needs.

The Trützschler Group has a structured approach to its exhibition strategy, participating in both large global shows like ITMA and regionally-focused events such as EXINTEX in Mexico and Nonwoven Tech Asia in India. The company collaborates closely with local agents for regional shows, maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to each market’s demands.

“For us, participating in real shows and meeting real people is essential,” Stehr emphasized. Despite the challenges, Trützschler finds that networking opportunities and direct customer engagement are invaluable. To optimize their participation, Trützschler carefully selects exhibitions aligned with market priorities, tailoring their presence to reflect product development and regional interests.
