According to the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the Chinese sewing machinery industry filed 7,326 patent applications in 2020, up 29.77 percent year over year.
Patents for innovation accounted for 25.39 percent of the total, patents for novel accounted for 60.66 percent, and patents for appearance design accounted for 13.95 percent. In 2020, the CNIPA will award 518 new patent patients.
The Chinese sewing machinery industry applied for 25,835 patents during the 13th five-year plan (2016-2020), which is 60.95 percent more than during the previous five-year plan (2011-2015). The industry, in fact, applied for 82% more patents for invention.
According to records, Chinese companies have spent more than 4% of their revenue on research and development, with some filing for over 100 patents in a single year. To assist in the preparation of a blueprint for the 14th five-year plan, businesses have made notable achievements in terms of intellectual property, greatly increased their innovation strength, and mastered hundreds of key technologies.
