The 25th Textile Asia International Trade Fair recently wrapped up, leaving a trail of success with over 550 international brands on display and more than 450 foreign delegates from 27 countries in attendance. The event, organized by the Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), has emerged as a key platform for promoting trade and collaboration within the textile industry.
Moazzam Ghurki, President of PCJCCI, highlighted the significance of the exhibition, stating, “The expo acts as a source of motivation and real opportunities for business ventures for local businesses and industries.” He expressed his commitment to facilitating joint ventures between international brand owners and local companies based in Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad. Additionally, he announced plans to provide training for engineers from these cities involved in manufacturing spare parts for sewing and textiles.
Among the international participants, Dongqi Group, a leading Chinese textile enterprise, made a significant presence at the event. An exhibitor from Dongqi Group stated, “The expo provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our advanced technology and high-quality products to potential partners and customers. We were particularly interested in establishing collaborations with Pakistan’s textile industry, which has great growth potential.” During the exhibition, Dongqi Group engaged in fruitful interactions with visitors from Pakistan and other countries, leading to significant orders and preliminary cooperation intentions.
Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General of PCJCCI, highlighted the immense interest shown by numerous Chinese companies in Pakistan’s textile industry. He stated, “Companies from cities and provinces like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Jiangsu, Fujian, and Shandong have expressed their desire to relocate their production units to Punjab, with a minimum investment of $25 million per unit.” Moreover, these companies are keen to transfer their technologies and intend to purchase Pakistani products after value addition, a move that is expected to bolster local exports and contribute to reducing the trade deficit between Pakistan and China.
The success of the Textile Asia International Trade Fair underscores the strong collaboration between Pakistan and China in the textile sector. This exhibition serves as a testament to the robust bilateral relations between the two countries and their commitment to fostering economic growth and trade partnerships.
The event’s ability to attract global brands and facilitate international alliances positions Pakistan as a significant player in the global textile industry, with the potential for further growth and collaboration on the horizon.
